Warranty

Last updated: September 2026

Every bat leaves the workshop weighed, balanced and inspected. If one fails because of how we made it, we put it right.

1. Cover

Product Period from delivery
Season bats (Monarch, Ridgeline, Timberline) 6 months
Tennis-ball bats (Summit, Alpine, Basecamp) 3 months
Bulk and club orders 6 months on season bats, from delivery of the batch

2. What is covered

  • Splice failure or separation of the handle from the blade under normal use.
  • Delamination of the handle’s cane or rubber inserts.
  • Structural cracking that originates in a defect of the timber we should have graded out.
  • Faults in the glue, binding or finish present at delivery.

3. What is not covered

  • Normal playing wear: surface cracks, seam marks, edge and toe compression, scuffs.
  • Damage from inadequate or absent knocking-in.
  • Damage from a wet ball, wet outfield, damp storage, or a waterlogged toe.
  • Using a tennis-ball bat with a leather ball, or any bat against a bowling machine using hard synthetic balls.
  • Yorkers and toe damage, which are impact events, not defects.
  • Bats that have been repaired, sanded, re-pressed or altered by anyone else.
  • Bats bought from an unauthorised reseller.

A bat is a consumable made of natural timber. Surface cracking after use is expected and is not a fault — bind it, tape it, keep playing.

4. Making a claim

  1. Email orders@backcountrysports.com with your order number, the date the fault appeared, and clear photographs of the whole bat plus a close-up of the fault.
  2. We assess within 2 working days and tell you whether it is covered.
  3. If covered, we arrange collection at our cost.
  4. We repair, replace, or refund — the choice of remedy is ours, and we tell you which before we act.

Turnaround for a covered claim is typically 7–14 working days plus transit.

5. Proof of purchase

Your order number or invoice is required. We cannot process a claim without it.

6. Statutory rights

This warranty is offered in addition to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and does not limit them.
